Job summary

Celanese is seeking an Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance to join our team at the Bishop, TX site. The role focuses on installing, calibrating and testing instruments, control systems and associated hardware, while ensuring safe and compliant operations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience with instrumentation/electrical systems, plus any instrumentation degree or NCCER certification would be a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance instrument, analyzer and/or electrical experience.
• Instrumentation associate degree preferred.
• NCCER Instrumentation certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and functionally check instruments, control systems, final control elements, and valves.
• Install, test, troubleshoot and repair motor controls, PLCs and relays.
• Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers and hand tools.
• Read and interpret ladder logic, electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Create and update reports using SAP and document work in progress.

Overview

Celanese is seeking an Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance to join our team in Bishop, TX.

Responsibilities

• Install, Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and functionally check instruments, control systems, final control elements, control valves, switches, levels, temperatures and flows
• Install, test, troubleshoot and repair motor controls, PLC's and relays
• Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers and hand tools
• Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot ladder logic
• Reads, interprets electrical drawings and P&ID's
• Maintains drawings to reflect any modifications
• Works directly with vendors, operations, and reliability group to resolve problems
• Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction
• Create and update accurate reports using SAP
• Complete all written and electronic records, calibration sheets, work orders and document the work in progress as it is completed

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills including MS office applications, Excel, Word and Outlook
• High School diploma/GED
• Detail oriented with problem solving skills, and able to organize and prioritize work assignments
• Knowledge of general and specific maintenance disciplines usually gained through a technical associate degree
• Able to work overtime, weekends and have scheduled on call duties
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance instrument, analyzer and/or electrical experience - preferred
• Instrumentation associate degree - preferred
• NCCER- Instrumentation certification - preferred
