Job summary

Celanese in Bishop, TX is seeking an Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance to join our team. You will install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation, control systems, valves, switches, and related equipment to ensure reliable plant operation.

The role requires problem solving, basic computer skills, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call duties. Candidates may have an associate degree in instrumentation or related field, plus NCCER instrumentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years in maintenance instrumentation/electrical.
• Instrumentation associate degree preferred.
• NCCER Instrumentation certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Basic computer skills: MS Office.
• Able to work overtime and on-call duties.
• Reads electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience with SAP reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and functionally check instruments and control systems.
• Install, test, troubleshoot and repair motor controls, PLCs and relays.
• Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers and hand tools.
• Understand and troubleshoot ladder logic.
• Read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Maintain drawings reflecting modifications.
• Collaborate with vendors, operations and reliability groups to resolve problems.
• Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction.
• Create and update reports using SAP.
• Complete records, calibration sheets and work orders; document progress.

Celanese is seeking an Instrumentation Technician, Maintenance to join our team in Bishop, TX.

Responsibilities

• Install, Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and functionally check instruments, control systems, final control elements, control valves, switches, levels, temperatures and flows
• Install, test, troubleshoot and repair motor controls, PLC’s and relays
• Use test equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, communicators, computers and hand tools
• Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot ladder logic
• Reads, interprets electrical drawings and P&ID’s
• Maintains drawings to reflect any modifications
• Works directly with vendors, operations, and reliability group to resolve problems
• Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction
• Create and update accurate reports using SAP
• Complete all written and electronic records, calibration sheets, work orders and document the work in progress as it is completed

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills including MS office applications, Excel, Word and Outlook
• High School diploma/GED
• Detail oriented with problem solving skills, and able to organize and prioritize work assignments
• Knowledge of general and specific maintenance disciplines usually gained through a technical associate degree
• Able to work overtime, weekends and have scheduled on call duties
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance instrument, analyzer and/or electrical experience – preferred
• Instrumentation associate degree - preferred
• NCCER- Instrumentation certification - preferred
