Job summary

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians for a long-term project in Magna, Utah. The role focuses on industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, and process controls with hands-on calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance in heavy industrial environments.

Candidates should have 2+ years I&E and 4+ years electrical experience, plus tools and PPE to meet project safety and onboarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of industrial instrumentation/I&E experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Hands-on calibration and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation.
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings and electrical schematics.
• Refinery/mining/chemical plant/oil & gas or heavy industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Work with pressure, temperature, differential pressure, flow, and level instrumentation.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot transmitters and control valves.
• Perform signal sourcing and simulation.
• Use HART communicators, process meters, pressure pumps, and other calibration equipment.
• Troubleshoot analog and discrete I/O.
• Assist with basic PLC and industrial control-system troubleshooting.
• Perform basic instrumentation tubing bending and installation.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, and diagrams.
• Diagnose instrumentation, control, and electrical system issues.
• Support plant operations, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Follow all site-specific safety and quality requirements.

Pay: $36.00–$46.00/hour DOE

Position Overview

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians (I&E Technicians) for a long-term industrial project in Magna, Utah.

This position is focused on industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, process controls, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. We are looking for technicians with hands‑on experience in refineries, mining operations, chemical plants, oil & gas facilities, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial instrumentation and electrical systems
• Work with pressure, temperature, differential pressure, flow, and level instrumentation
• Calibrate and troubleshoot transmitters and control valves
• Perform signal sourcing and simulation
• Use HART communicators, process meters, pressure pumps, and other calibration and diagnostic equipment

• Understanding of analog and discrete signals and industrial control loops
• Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
• Refinery, mining, chemical plant, oil & gas, or similar heavy industrial experience strongly preferred
• Own basic hand tools and cordless tool set
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to meet project safety and onboarding requirements

Compensation & Benefits

• $36.00–$46.00/hour DOE
