Job summary
Calspan's Automotive Crash Facility in Buffalo, NY is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support and improve our state-of-the-art test systems. You will join a fast-paced lab, performing setup, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation for automotive crash testing.
The role requires technical education and hands-on experience, with opportunities to contribute to projects for global manufacturers and to be part of Calspan's 75-year legacy of innovation.
Qualifications
- AAS or Bachelors in related discipline.
- 3+ years in related discipline or a combination of education and experience.
- Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
- Electrical and electronic principles.
- Read and understand engineering plans and specifications.
- Read drawings and troubleshoot.
- Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Performing set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering, and checkout before, during, and after the test.
- Support the maintenance, installation, and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
- Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation when applicable.
- Understand OEM test request for upcoming test instrumentation required for test article. Assemble instrumentation required and make placards for test article
