  • Schedule: 1st shift (7:00AM-3:30PM) or 2nd shift (3:00PM-11:00PM) available

  • AAS degree or two-year technical certificate in Electrical Technology or equivalent required

Develop your talents by applying your expertise within our facility in Niagara Falls, as the Instrumentation Technician:

  • Safety:
    • Participates in safety goals for the department and mill, behavior and other audits, reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions.
    • Wears proper safety equipment.
    • Follows all safety rules and procedures.
    • Keeps work area clean and practices good housekeeping according to 5S program.
  • PLC:
    • Demonstrates the ability to create a PLC program from written process specifications.
    • Designs and leads the installation of projects involving PLCs.
    • Maintains PLC software documentation, backup strategies, and ensures software is up to date.
  • Machine Drive Controls:
    • Reads and interprets machine drive control software.
    • Provides training on machine drive control software.
    • Maintains Ethernet communication networks for machine drive control systems and remote access links.
  • DCS:
    • Proficient in troubleshooting DCS process problems; interfaces with production as needed.
    • Installs and configures DCS hardware including I/O racks and boards.
    • Maintains FTE network.
    • Configures control loops and operator graphics from specifications.
  • Other:
    • Manages motor inventory.
    • Maintains E/I CAD drawings.
    • Handles technical investigations, SOPs, and training follow-ups.
    • Organizes E/I department drawing system.
    • Assists in energy, power distribution, load studies, high voltage PM, and other topics.
    • Performs additional tasks as requested by supervisor.
