Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation Engineering Technician to join our Columbus, IN team. The role focuses on performance testing, data acquisition, instrumentation installation, and proactive maintenance within on-site engine test cells.

You will collaborate with engineers, train apprentices, and contribute to test plans, reports, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR
• Bachelors degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls; diagnoses problems and initiates resolutions.
• Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes data and writes programs to assist analysis.
• Performs rig, engine and component builds, tear down, and inspections.
• Creates sketches for machining and fabricates piping, tubing, and brackets from prints/drawings.
• Installs engines and instrumentation in test cells/test rigs and maintains documentation.
