Job Overview

Aramco, a global leader in energy, is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to support our operations in Saudi Arabia. The role involves designing, developing, installing, and troubleshooting instrumentation systems across various facilities, including gas plants, refineries, and petrochemical plants.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support all types of instrumentation such as level, temperature, pressure sensors, control valves, safety valves, and flow measurement devices.
  2. Conduct engineering studies to optimize solutions, enhance safety, and improve process efficiency.
  3. Lead or participate in incident investigations and technical problem-solving teams.
  4. Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices aligned with industry codes.
  5. Evaluate vendor capabilities and act as a technical liaison during procurement and project execution.
  6. Perform technical evaluations and participate in bid reviews for instrumentation equipment.
  7. Research and implement new technologies to improve operational performance.
  8. Conduct cost analyses and value engineering to recommend cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical); Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience, ideally with major oil & gas companies or instrumentation suppliers.
  • Experience in sizing and selecting plant instrumentation components.
  • Certifications such as ISA-CAP, CFSP, TUV FSEng, PE license, or Chartered Engineer are preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and gas detection systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME, IEC, ISA, IEEE).
  • Experience in HAZOP, SIL, P&ID review, and control systems.
  • Understanding communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, etc.
  • Active membership in professional societies (ISA, IEEE) for at least 3 years.
