Job summary

Walker Lovell Ltd is seeking an experienced instrumentation engineer to lead projects from concept through commissioning on major capital programs.

You will specify instrumentation, size and select devices, and drive safety, reliability and operational performance across sites. Remote work with occasional travel is available, with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 7+ years instrumentation experience in process manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, instrument specifications, and control valve sizing.
• Experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA systems and industrial protocols.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation engineering activities from concept through commissioning for capital projects.
• Specify, size and select instrumentation including control valves and measurement devices.
• Provide technical leadership for HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies and plant troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety and control system performance.

What you'll be doing

• Lead instrumentation engineering activities from concept through commissioning for capital projects.
• Specify, size and select instrumentation including control valves, flow, pressure, temperature and analytical devices.
• Provide technical leadership for HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies and complex plant troubleshooting.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying reliability, safety and control system optimisation opportunities.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 7+ years of instrumentation engineering experience within process manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, instrument specifications, control valve sizing and field instrumentation.
• Experience working with DCS, PLC and SCADA systems alongside industrial communication protocols.
