Job summary

Suzano is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician for its Pine Bluff, AR plant. The role requires hands-on maintenance of electrical and control systems, PLCs, drives, and instrumentation to minimize downtime and support reliability initiatives.

The candidate will work on a 7am-3:30pm schedule with 48+ hours per week and must adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements. Two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a related two-year degree is expected, with strong

Qualifications

  • Two years or more of experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environment or a two-year degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance with one year experience
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and loop sheets
  • Knowledge of electrical hazards, OSHA requirements, and safety procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plant
  • Perform emergency maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, process controls, electrical, instrument, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Maintain power distribution systems and improve operations productivity
  • Support reliability initiatives including motor testing, thermography, and power analysis
  • Back up programs and update documentation and drawings

You’re Going to Do:Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plant.Perform emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal equipment downtimeMaintain and troubleshoot PLC’s, process controls, electrical, instrument, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentApply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, safety, environmental, and OEM standards.Maintain power distribution systemsImprove operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning,Successfully support daily activities, shutdowns, long-term planning and capital projectsSupport reliability initiatives such as motor testing, ultrasonic, power analysis, thermographyPerform precision maintenance calibrations and repairs.Manage system changes by backing up programs, updating documentation, schematics, and drawings.Work in temperature extremes in summer and winter months.Work in and around automated manufacturing equipment with moving forklifts, cranes and floor conveyors.Employees must strictly adhere to attendance policy.Employees must perform all assigned task as directed.This is a full time position working 48 or more hours per week.Understand and comply with all safety rules, regulations and policies.Employees must wear various types of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, side shields, hearing protection, aprons, harnesses, steel toed shoes, gloves, reflective vest, etc.) Safely work in confined spaces, use LO/TO procedures and other safety processes, etc.Physical Requirements:Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects that weight at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.Standing and Walking: Must be able to withstand frequent standing or walking, sometimes for extended periods of time.Climbing and Bending: Must be able to perform tasks that involve ascending or descending ladders, stairs, or scaffolding, and performing bending, stooping, or kneeling actions.Repetitive Movements: Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing, grasping, or operating machinery and power tools.Mobility: Must be able to move between or within work areas, including navigating various surfaces and confined spaces.Exposure to Elements: Must be able to work in outdoor or indoor conditions with exposure to precipitation, wind, or varying temperatures.What We Expect from You:Two (2) years or more of experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environment ORA two (2) year degree or higher in Industrial Electrical Maintenance and one (1) year experience in Industrial Electrical Maintenance ORThree (3) years or more experience in Industrial Electrical Maintenance.Meets the physical and safety requirements of the job while working 12 hour shifts, including holidays, overtime, and weekends.Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and loop sheets.Knowledge of electrical hazards and safety procedures and OSHA requirements.Experience diagnosing and repairing various electrical and electronic equipment such as AC and DC motors, motor starter circuits, PLC’s, Variable frequency drives, 480v circuits and above,Good communication skillsAbility to work with othersAbility to work in hostile environments.Self-motivated with a sense of urgencyDesired Qualifications:Good computer skillsExperience with a Computerized Maintenance Management SystemExperience with mechanical maintenance such as welding, cutting, fitting,Hydraulics experiencePaper mill experienceExperience with distributed controls systemsProgramming experience including the ability to create, monitor, modify PLC and DCS logic.Pneumatics experienceExperience with power
