Job summary

Suzano is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer - High Voltage to lead capital projects sustaining electrical infrastructure at our paper mill. The role is hands-on, focused on project execution, troubleshooting, and cross‑team collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to ensure electrical reliability and asset longevity.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, 3–7 years’ experience in relevant industries, and strong skills in

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in pulp & paper, chemical, or oil & gas industries.
  • Strong background in power distribution, controls, PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems.
  • Experience with GE, Allen-Bradley, and Westinghouse equipment.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing contractors and vendors is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late shifts.
  • High self-motivation and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and manage electrical improvement projects (power distribution systems, crane controls, drives upgrades, power quality studies, machine room equipment, cameras).
  • Address ongoing electrical issues and identify critical spares to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and interface with contractors and vendors to execute capital projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Monitor key electrical parameters and identify opportunities for system optimization.
  • Troubleshooting electrical faults and making repairs to equipment and utility systems.
  • Support mill operations by ensuring electrical systems meet safety, reliability, and performance standards.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to align priorities and share technical insights.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization.

About The Role

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer - High Voltage plays a key role in supporting our paper mill operations by leading capital projects focused on sustaining electrical infrastructure. The role is highly hands‑on, with a strong focus on project execution, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams and vendors. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in electrical systems and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The position collaborates closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational areas to ensure electrical reliability, manage critical spares, and support long‑term asset sustainability across the mill.
