Job summary

Alpek Polyester USA, LLC is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to join the Richmond, IN maintenance team. You will diagnose and repair instrument and electrical systems, interpret drawings, and work with DCS/PLC/HMI platforms with a strong emphasis on safety.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in instrumentation/electrical maintenance, relevant certificates or degree, and solid troubleshooting and RFCA knowledge to improve reliability and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation/electrical field.
• Journeyman Instrument/Electrical Certificate.
• Associate Degree in I&E Technology.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RFCA).
• Good interpersonal, communication, listening and safety practices.
• Identify practices to improve reliability and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Investigate problems with instruments and sensors (flow meters, temp, pressure, level transmitters, etc.).
• Repair and maintain electrical and instrument equipment with tools; rebuild and service machines.
• Inspect and test operation to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic devices.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, instrument loop diagrams and BIDS.
• Work with DCS, PLCs, control software and HMIs; troubleshoot as needed.
• Follow established safety rules and procedures.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our RI - Richmond site's maintenance team based in Richmond, IN. The ideal candidate for the Instrumentation & Electrical Technician possesses a safety mindset and applies a high degree of self-driven ownership and accountability over their duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will be reportable to the Maintenance Manager and have responsibilities for the following tasks:

• Investigate problems with instruments and sensors including flow meters, variable speed drives, temperature sensors, pressure and level transmitters, air quality sensors, communications devices and interfaces
• Repairs and maintains electrical and instrument equipment using hand tools, power tools, & precision measuring and testing instruments. Engages in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and instruments.
• Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, instrument loop diagrams and BIDS.
• Capable of working with DCS, programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controls (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems would be an asset.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety rules and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• Must have one of the below:
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation / electrical field
