Ohio State University is seeking an Instrumentation Coordinator - IRP 2 to oversee daily coordination between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing, ensuring case carts are assembled, decontaminated, sterilized, and delivered aseptically.
The role includes procuring and standardizing instrument trays across the enterprise, supporting process improvement projects, and serving as a clinical liaison across multiple sites, including Ross Heart Hospital and James Cancer Hospital.

An Instrumentation Coordinator works to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and or clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The Instrumentation Coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections. This position is for ensuring sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered to the point use aseptically. Additionally, this position needs to serve as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise. This position will also be responsible for procuring, and standardizing instrument trays across the Enterprise. This position will be utilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the Health System, to include Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East and all Ambulatory sites.
Coordination and oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory. Responsible for assisting in projects and process improvement. Promotes customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center. Also responsible for ordering, procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.
Requires 1 Year experience and CRCST or CBSPD certification. Location: Kenny Rd, 1900 (0232). Position Type: Intermittent Scheduled Hours: 0.2 Shift: Varying Shifts. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
