The Ohio State University, University Hospital's Central Sterile Supply, seeks an Instrumentation Coordinator to oversee case cart assembly, sterilization, and instrument distribution across the enterprise. You will act as a clinical liaison between Operating Rooms and CSS, ensuring aseptic processing and standardized trays.

Requires a High School diploma and CRCST or CSPDT certification, plus 1 year of relevant experience; 2–4 years preferred.

• 1 year of relevant experience required; 2–4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities between Operating Room and Sterile Processing to facilitate efficient case flow.
• Oversee case cart assembly, decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection of reprocessed inventory.
• Procure, organize, and standardize instrument trays across the Enterprise.

In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:## Job Title:Instrumentation Coordinator - IRP## Department:University Hospital | Central Sterile Supply**Scope of Position**An Instrumentation Coordinatorworks to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and or clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The Instrumentation Coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections. This position is for ensuring sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered to the point use aseptically. Additionally, this position needs to serve as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise. This position will also be responsible for procuring, and standardizing instrument trays across the Enterprise. This position will be utilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the Health System, to include Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East and all Ambulatory sites.**Position Summary**Coordination and oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory. Responsible for assisting in projects and process improvement. Promotes customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center. Also responsible for ordering, procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.**Minimum Qualifications**High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification (CSPDT) issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.## Additional Information:Requires 1 Year experience and CRCST or CBSPD certification.## Location:Kenny Rd, 1900 (0232)## Position Type:Intermittent## Scheduled Hours:0.2## **Shift:**Varying Shifts***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
