Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Instrument and Controls Technician I to support the Utilities and Energy Management department on a temporary basis. The role involves installing and upgrading meters, transmitters, and control equipment for power and chill water systems in a campus environment. Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• At least 2 years of related apprentice-level experience in instrumentation and control systems equipment.
• Preferred 4+ years in instrumentation and control systems; ISA level 1 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installation, retrofit, and modification of campus utility meters, transmitters, valves, and control systems in electric power and chill water environments.
• Follows ISA safety standards and university safety policies; reports hazards and conducts required safety training.

Education

Graduation from an accredited college in Industrial Instrumentation or related studies
