Southern Company Services in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for New Generation and Combined Cycle projects. Depending on experience level, you will lead or support DCS design, field commissioning and operational readiness, with collaboration across engineering disciplines and vendors.

Responsibilities include issuing technical specifications, developing system layouts, on-site field support during construction and startup, and implementing operational enhancements

Formación

• B.S. in Engineering is required.
• P.E. License is a plus.
• Experience with industrial process or power generation systems is required.
• Combined Cycle or other power plant experience is a plus.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems and/or PLCs is required.
• Experience with Emerson Ovation is a plus.
• Networking design and troubleshooting knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus Serial, DNP3, OPC is a plus.
• Knowledge of instrumentation design (temp, level, pressure, flow, vibration, analytical) is needed.
• Experience supporting control system installation, factory/site acceptance testing, and plant startup is preferred.
• Cyber security best practices knowledge is desirable.
• Strong technical communication and cross-functional coordination skills are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support DCS and Simulator activities including specifications, layouts, I/O lists, graphics reviews and alarm management.
• Serve as point of contact for I&C-related project matters with other disciplines and project reps.
• Represent the I&C team in EPC reviews, 3D-models, schedule/procurement, and site walkdowns.
• Provide on-site field support during construction and startup for DCS and Simulator installations.
• Develop and implement operational enhancements to improve unit reliability, flexibility, and operability.
