Job summary

EnergyX is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for industrial applications. You will lead panel wiring, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA integration, and data visualization from SQL databases using Ignition or similar platforms.

The role requires a strong background in control theory, instrumentation, and automation, with at least 5 years in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of instrumentation and control engineering in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming across listed platforms.
  • Experience with Ignition server commissioning and HMI design.
  • Knowledge of OPC UA and Modbus protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build E&I and control systems, including panel wiring, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA development and integration.
  • Develop instrumentation specifications and selection criteria for various projects.
  • Create and review P&IDs and control schematics.
  • Develop data visualization from MySQL databases in platforms such as Ignition, Grafana, or similar.
  • Conduct FAT and SAT for control systems.
  • Integrate control systems with existing infrastructure and ensure seamless operation.
  • Perform commissioning electrical work including sensor addition, sensor validation, and motor wiring.
  • Perform general system commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare project documentation, including control narratives, functional specifications, and user manuals.
  • Ensure all instrumentation and control designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in control technology and best practices.
