Job summary

Abbott in Madison, WI is seeking a skilled technician to diagnose and repair enterprise laboratory instruments and automation systems. You will perform root cause investigations, preventative maintenance, and calibrations to ensure instrument reliability and GDP-compliant documentation.

You will collaborate across teams and vendors, advance technical expertise, and contribute to process improvements and SOP development in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering/Technology/Electronics or equivalent with experience.
• Experience interpreting mechanical parts and assembly drawings.
• Experience with electrical circuits/diagrams and measurement tools (multimeters, analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and resolve failures on laboratory instrumentation and automation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Document service activities per GDP and regulatory frameworks (OSHA, FDA, ISO, CLIA).
• Develop technical expertise and train others; collaborate with teams and vendors.
