Job Description: Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Tech

Philadelphia, PA - ONSITE

9 month W2 contract (with potential to extend or transition to perm)
Pay rate: $45-65/hr - Depending on Education and Experience

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled, organized, and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the infield verification of instrumentation installation and control system operation.
You will work with project commissioning, construction, and subcontractors to ensure instrumentation is installed and tested per design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee loop checks, signal verification, troubleshooting of instrumentation to ensure proper installation and functionality.
• Ensure instrumentation installation complies with project specifications.
• Organize testing and verification strategies for instrumentation where applicable.
• Support functional testing of control systems, alarms, and safety systems.
• Review P&ID’s, Loop Drawings/Wiring Diagrams, Technical Specifications, and calibration records.
• Execute and document infield verification; resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain and organize discrepancy trackers, driving issues to resolution with minimal project impact.

Skills or Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, technical trade school, or apprenticeship program.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in I&C, preferably in cGMP Pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience with Large Capital Projects.
• Familiarity with Engineering Drawings.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation systems (pressure, temperature, flow, level, control valves, analyzers).
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems and protocols.
• Experience with ISA standards.

Additional Information:
