Job summary

CG Thermal LLC is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to guide design and execution of instrumentation and control phases for turnkey systems. You will ensure safe, reliable control systems, develop schematics, interpret wiring, and program PLC/HMI.

Responsibilities include input on P&ID, control narratives, panel schematics, panel fabrication oversight, vendor coordination, and on-site start-up support.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferable.
• Proven track record of successful PLC systems commissioning, software integration, calibration or troubleshooting.
• Ability to produce and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for details in documents.
• Driven to maintain schedules and meet standards of quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and works well without daily supervision.
• Strong team member, excelling in collaboration with technical and non-technical personnel.
• Possesses strong presentation skills; able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFQs, and when submitting formal proposals.
• Ability to build technical and trusting relationships with customers quickly.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and good business sense.

• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate deliveries of materials and enable innovation.
• Work with the Production Control Specialist to track ordering and arrival of instruments and controls.
• Support QC with Inspection of components upon arrival.
• Wire instruments as needed, program the PLC and test system.
• Identify potential flaws and perform troubleshooting.
• Be available for start-up services at customer’s site.

Job Purpose/Description

The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer is responsible for guiding the design and driving the execution of instrumentation and control phase for our turnkey systems as a vital member of our process systems team. The primary function of the Instrumentation and Controls Engineer is to ensure the timely completion of a safe and reliable control system for the process systems we provide to an array of industries. This includes generating control system schematics, interpreting and/or writing wiring instruments and programing of PLC and HMI.

$75,000-$94,000 + annual discretionary bonus ; performance based salary increases
