Raise is hiring a contract Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA, onsite with 50% travel to field sites. You will support day-to-day instrumentation and controls, troubleshoot, and manage projects up to $2M within a defined area.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a related role.
  • Proficient with reading drawings, PLC programming, project management and field equipment.
  • Proficient in Excel and HMI systems (Allen-Bradley), RSLogix, Factory Talk, and ladder logic.
  • Experience working with GE Multilin relays and Flow-X/OMNI flow computers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred
  • Understanding of field/industrial settings
  • Understanding of field devises and how they interact with the process
  • Experience with Instrumentation & Controls (PLC Programming with a preference for Allen Bradley)

Responsibilities

  • Manage field execution and financial stewardship of electrical, instrumentation, and controls upgrades and maintenance within a defined area.
  • Oversee multiple projects in various stages, including scope, design, estimation, procurement, scheduling, and field execution (up to $2M).
  • Provide day-to-day electrical, power, instrumentation, and controls support and troubleshooting for the area.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff to implement practical asset-management solutions.
  • Work with facility equipment such as motors, actuators, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, PLCs, instrumentation.

Overview

Instrumentation and Controls Engineers are responsible for providing day to day instrumentation and controls technical support, troubleshooting, and project management to a defined operating area.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing field execution and financial stewardship of electrical, instrumentation, and controls facility upgrades and technical maintenance work within a defined geographic or operating area which may include terminals, pipeline and salt dome storage facilities.

  • Includes managing several projects in various stages of execution and comprehends project scope definition, engineering design, estimate development, material and service procurement, schedule development and field execution using the project implementation processes.Individual projects are generally up to $2M in appropriation.

  • Provides day-to-day, electrical, power, instrumentation, and controls technical support and troubleshooting for a defined geographic or operating area and actively participates with the Operating Business Team to develop, recommend and implement practical solutions to effectively utilize and manage area operating assets.

  • Works with facility equipment including motors, actuators, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, PLCs, instrumentation, measurements, and other electrical-related activities.

  • Participates in operating area risk management activities.

  • Depending on work location and area of responsibility, position involves between 20% and 50% of time outside the office working with Operations personnel at field operating locations.A portion of the field work may involve travel and overnight stays.

Requirements


  • 2+ years of experience in a related role
