Instrumentation and Controls Field Service Technician

Kelly Engineering seeks a skilled I&C Field Service Technician to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll be on the front lines providing operational and maintenance expertise on industrial water treatment systems.

Client covers travel/accommodations (and mileage reimbursement until a company vehicle is provided)

Responsibilities

  • Support various water treatment technologies, including media filtration, industrial water treatment, and ultrafiltration (UF) systems
  • Apply knowledge of water treatment processes and 3-phase electrical systems
  • Review customer installations against reference drawings (P&IDs, schematics, general arrangements)
  • Monitor system performance and operational parameters
  • Perform maintenance and calibration on treatment plant instrumentation
  • Conduct site-specific analytical testing (e.g., turbidity, pH, chlorine, TOC, SDI, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process, and control issues on system components
  • Install and maintain water treatment equipment and systems
  • Deliver informal training to customers on system operation and maintenance
  • Prepare detailed technical service reports following customer visits

Qualifications / Experience

  • 2 - 4 years of industrial service/maintenance experience
  • Degree in Science, Engineering, or technical certification in instrumentation, controls, programming, or water treatment preferred
  • Experience with PLC control systems; programming and troubleshooting a plus
  • Willingness to travel extensively – New England to Mid-Atlantic region
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with remote teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
