Job summary

Fort Point LLC is seeking a Senior/Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead project management and delivery of I&C engineering efforts. The role involves direct client collaboration to define project scope and ensure successful execution from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of projects, develop datasheets, and coordinate with vendors and process engineering to select appropriate devices, while controlling costs and ensuring quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience.
• Experience as a lead instrumentation engineer on EPC capital projects from concept through completion.
• Oversees project execution to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery and scope.

Responsibilities

• Manage instrumentation and controls engineering and design projects from inception through execution.
• Coordinate and oversee project implementation, monitor costs and quality.
• Size and specify instrumentation including transmitters, meters, valves, regulators, actuators.
• Create datasheets and work with vendors for quotes.
• Coordinate with process engineering to select devices and create schematics/loop sheets.
• Design control panels to meet project needs and track costs.
• Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope; review all deliverables.

Seeking a skilled and seasoned Senior/Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Lead to take charge of project management responsibilities. The I&C Engineer will have direct collaboration with clients to understand project requirements and oversee the engineering deliverables. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of projects from start to finish and be responsible for developing and documenting project scopes. • Manage Instrumentation and Controls engineering and design projects from inception through execution


• Coordinate and oversee project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the project


• Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators


• Create datasheets and work with vendors to get quotes for instrumentation and controls


• Coordinate with process engineering team to select the appropriate devices


• Create schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring


• Design custom control panels to meet the project need


• Develop and track project costs


• Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope


• Review and manage all project deliverables

Skills and expertise.
