Latin School of Chicago seeks an Instrumental Music Assistant Teacher for band (grades 5–12) and chorus. This full-time role supports the lead music teacher and helps provide an authentic teaching and learning experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in the day-to-day operation of the classroom, including prepping materials and activities, clean up, and organization of materials
• Help promote a safe, clean, and orderly environment for children in grades 5-12
• Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and families
• Assist in the development and implementation of the curriculum
• Assist in instructing students as directed by the music teachers, including consistently and continually checking in with them throughout the class period
• Assist in grading papers and student evaluation and documentation under the direction of the lead teacher
• Assist with all aspects of planning and participating in field trips as directed
• Work one-on-one with students to support their learning
