Job summary

A technology solutions company in Maryland is seeking a technician who can build and integrate instruments in production. The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Mechatronics or equivalent experience and strong troubleshooting skills. This role includes analyzing test outcomes and supporting improvements in assembly processes. Competitive pay range is $19-$23 per hour.

Job description

Job Description:
Pay Range: $19hr - $23hr

Responsibilities:

  • Build, integrate, and understand the entire assembly process for instruments in production.
  • Perform test instructions on at least one moderately complex instrument, including functional and release testing.
  • Analyze data/results to determine pass/fail outcomes and provide solutions for failures.
  • Recommend system performance improvements for precision movement and light systems using pass/fail results.
  • Identify defects and suggest design or process improvements.
  • Interpret and follow drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards.
  • Train associates on mechanical and testing activities as needed.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams as required.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP, and company safety/quality policies.
  • Perform standard material handling functions for raw materials and sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including housekeeping tasks.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • AA degree in Mechatronics or related field with no experience OR 5 years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting.
  • Ability to support testing of moderately complex instruments.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of mechanical tools such as torque drivers, gauges, and bits.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, dimensions, and requirements.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple production orders.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in XX with ability to read/write technical documents and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Proficiency with PCs and Windows environment.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and use independent judgment in setup, operations, and processes.
  • Flexibility to manage frequent assignment changes.

Qualification and Education:

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics or related field OR equivalent 5 years’ relevant experience.
