Job summary

Orthopaedic Surgery Centers of San Antonio is seeking an Instrument Technician for a part-time role. You’ll manage sterile supplies, prepare instrument trays, and maintain inventory for the ambulatory surgical center. A high school diploma or higher is required.

Experience in a medical or hospital environment is preferred, with sterile processing certification a plus. You will work with strong attention to detail, communicate clearly, and be able to stand and move throughout shifts, supporting

What You’ll Do:

• The Instrument Technician is responsible for the sterile supplies and maintenance of the ambulatory surgical center.
• Preparation, storage, processing, and sterilization of instrument trays and supplies.
• Ensures and maintains adequate supply levels.
• Checks for broken, defective, out-dated, or missing items and reports them to the manager.
• Adheres to procedures in accordance with department and OSHA guidelines

Requirements

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or higher education.
• Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical surgical supplies. Sterile processing certification a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed, by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
• Requires extensive mobility (walking an standing) while performing duties. Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and/or equipment. May have exposure to patients with communicable diseases. May have exposure to hazardous equipment or agents. GH 9/9/13
