Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare trays and equipment, oversee cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization of instruments. The role includes quality control testing, record keeping, and supporting orientation for new staff within the Sterile Processing department.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in Sterile Processing or one year with CSPDT/CRCST/CST certification, and a strong focus on accuracy,

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' recent experience in Sterile Processing, or one year plus CSPDT/CRCST/CST certification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow approved procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trays and equipment for sterilization and maintain accurate records.
• Perform cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization of instruments.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and serve as a resource for the Sterile Processing team.

Job Summary

Responsible and accountable for all duties related to the preparation of trays and equipment; processing of general and specialty surgical instruments including cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization; quality control testing and monitoring of sterilization equipment and maintaining records. Perform assigned duties such as cleaning, stocking, transporting, and dispensing supplies and equipment, and assisting with orientation of new staff members. Serve as a resource for other team members and assume lead role as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Require a minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Sterile Processing or one (1) year of experience and one of the following active/current certifications:- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer expert level skills in multi-specialty surgery instrumentation.
• Prefer the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
• Prefer intermediate computer skills.

Mandatory Education

• HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
