Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Florida is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician responsible for preparing trays and equipment, including cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization of general and specialty surgical instruments.

You will perform duties such as cleaning, stocking, transporting, dispensing supplies, and assisting with orientation of new staff members, serving as a resource for the team and taking a lead role as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent sterile processing experience or 1 year plus a current certification.
• Must hold HS diploma or equivalent; valid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trays and equipment; process general and specialty instruments.
• Perform cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization.
• Conduct quality control testing and monitor sterilization equipment.
• Maintain records and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with cleaning, stocking, transporting and dispensing supplies.
• Orient and mentor new staff; serve as a resource and lead when assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible and accountable for all duties related to the preparation of trays and equipment; processing of general and specialty surgical instruments including cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization; quality control testing and monitoring of sterilization equipment and maintaining records. Perform assigned duties such as cleaning, stocking, transporting, and dispensing supplies and equipment, and assisting with orientation of new staff members. Serve as a resource for other team members and assume lead role as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Require a minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Sterile Processing or one (1) year of experience and one of the following active/current certifications: - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer expert level skills in multi-specialty surgery instrumentation.
• Prefer the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
• Prefer intermediate computer skills.

Mandatory Education
