Job summary

IDEXX in Maine, Westbrook, is seeking an Instrument Technician to support the production, testing, and maintenance of veterinary diagnostic instruments. You will assemble and test components, troubleshoot instruments, and document results in PC-based tools.

The role involves supporting maintenance programs, Lean initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM. Benefits begin day one, including 401k matching and PTO.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production, or electromechanical repair environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, including experience with testing equipment and tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software applications.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred, or willingness to learn and engage in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components across multiple product lines.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning instruments and equipment.
• Execute and support preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Document test procedures and results using PC-based tools, including spreadsheets and data analysis.
• Assist in creating and implementing manufacturing and service procedures and documentation.
• Perform production tasks including assembly, inspection, packaging, and system configuration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production and service operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting Lean practices and process enhancements.

In This Role
