Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company in Bay City, MI invites an Instrument Technician to join our Bay City Factory on a full-time hourly basis. You will perform instrumentation maintenance to keep the plant safe, efficient and compliant, installing and maintaining instrumentation systems around the facility.

The role requires strong experience with control loops, PLC logic and instrumentation drawings, plus the ability to work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years industrial Instrumentation experience.
• Industrial experience, including knowledge in control loops, relay logic, PLC logic and computer-based process control.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and instrumentation prints/drawings.
• Ability to quickly problem solve and make decisions.
• Demonstrated personal leadership and positive can-do attitude.
• Flexible and able to work in fast paced and varying environments.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Leading the self by demonstrating ethics and integrity, displaying drive and purpose, demonstrated capability to learn, managing self, increasing self-awareness.
• Ability to work shift work.

Job Summary:

An Instrument Technician at Michigan Sugar’s Bay City Factory is responsible for Instrumentation maintenance labor to maintain the factory in an efficient, safe and environmentally sound manner. Requires performing a wide variety of tasks including installing and maintaining Instrumentation systems in and around the factory.
