Job summary

Mercy San Juan Medical Center is seeking an Instrument Tech to ensure availability, cleanliness, and functionality of surgical instruments and trays. You will clean, sterilize, assemble, and inspect instruments, operate sterilization equipment, and maintain precise records in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates show thorough knowledge of sterilization principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle demanding workloads in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of Certified Sterile Processing program and related infection-control training.
• Proven knowledge of sterile processing in OR/Endoscopy environments and ability to train or supervise staff.
• Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech or higher certification required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, assemble, and inspect surgical instruments and trays.
• Operate sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure instruments are sterile and readily available for procedures.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Instrument Tech, you will ensure the availability, cleanliness, and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment. Every day you will meticulously clean, sterilize, assemble, and inspect surgical instruments and trays, operating sterilization equipment and maintaining accurate records. To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of sterilization principles, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all instruments are sterile and ready.

Job Requirements

Required

• Completion of Certified Sterile Processing program. and Sterile Processing in an Operating Room and/or Endoscopy environment, upon hire and
• 6 months (or when staffing is able to accommodate training, management will consider Instrument Techs who have graduated from an accredited sterile processing program program and completed an externship at Mercy San Juan Central Sterilization Department.
• Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, upon hire or
• Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, upon hire or
• Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
