Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to reprocess and sterilize surgical instruments. The role requires independent work, attention to detail, and adherence to infection control standards.

Responsibilities include decontamination, prepping, sterilization, and proper handling and storage of instruments, with the LA area as the service region. LA City fire card within 6 months is required, and IAHCSMM certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED is required.
• One year of experience in acute health care is required.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and their use.
• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used during sterile processing.
• LA City fire card within 6 months of employment.
• Preferred: IAHCSMM certification.

Responsibilities

• Reprocesses and sterilizes surgical instruments and related supplies.
• Maintains infection control standards and proper tagging of instruments.
• Performs decontamination, prep, sterilization, and storage tasks.
• Works independently while supporting the Sterile Processing team.
