The role emphasizes hands-on instrument handling, accuracy in processing, and effective communication with team members to ensure patient safety and operating room efficiency.

Qualifications

• Instrumentation experience in handling surgical instruments and sterile processing.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with OR staff and leadership.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and receive/give constructive feedback.
• Clear verbal and written communication for concise updates by phone and in person.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment.
• Cleaning, packaging, and re-processing of reusable surgical equipment, instrumentation, and scopes per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Supporting the surgical team through activities in the sterile core.

Responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient as well as procedural areas within the hospital. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Central Service Team Leaders and Central Service Supervisor and in collaboration with the operating room team.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Supporting the needs of the surgical team through activities in the sterile core.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of one (1) year of instrumentation experience.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, being concise by phone and in person.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• One (1) year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
