Natick Public Schools Music Department is looking to add to our staff of "after school" Music teachers. We are looking for individuals to teach Acoustic Bass for grades 4-12 in our afterschool program on an houly basis.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Identify concepts and methods that advance playing for beginners through advanced students
  • Implement technical lessons that correspond to the standards being taught in orchestra classes
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Teach in Class, small group, duo, and private lessons
  • Employ methods that motivate students
  • Have strong classroom management skills
  • Be able to work independently
  • Prepare upper level students for recitals
  • Be positive, encouraging, and make students want to explore music more deeply
  • Maintain high expectations for performance,

Schedule and workload TBD based on interest. Generally, elementary lessons are between Noon and 2 PM, and middle school and high school are after 2:00 PM. There is some room to make your own schedule.

  • may need to teach and support students with life skills development such as eating, cleaning, and toileting
  • lifting up to and including 25 lbs
  • the noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
