Job summary

Bayou Electrical Services is seeking an Instrument Fitter to support the installation and maintenance of instrumentation systems on industrial and energy-sector projects. You will lay out, fabricate, and install tubing, fittings, valves, manifolds, supports, and related components according to project drawings and manufacturer instructions.

You will work closely with instrument technicians, electricians, field supervision, and quality personnel to ensure installations are completed safely,

Qualifications

• Ability to read instrument installation drawings, P&IDs, and related technical information.
• Working knowledge of instrument tubing, fittings, valves, manifolds, supports, and mounting methods.
• Proficiency with tubing benders, cutters, deburring tools, measuring equipment, and hand/power tools.
• Familiarity with Swagelok or equivalent instrumentation fittings and following installation instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and communicate with supervisors and other trades.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications: follow P&IDs, hookup details, isometrics, and installation specs.
• Fabricate and install tubing: measure, cut, deburr, bend, route, and install tubing for process impulse lines and instrument connections.
• Install fittings and components: assemble tubing fittings, valves, manifolds per instructions and project requirements.
• Mount instruments and supports: fabricate/install stands, brackets, and tubing supports; mount transmitters and gauges.
• Maintain installation quality: verify routing, spacing, accessibility, identification, and workmanship per requirements.
• Support inspection and testing: assist with leak testing, pressure testing, inspections and commissioning within procedures.

EssentialJobDutiesandResponsibilities

• Maintaininstallationquality:Verifytubingrouting,supportspacing,accessibility,identification,andoverallworkmanshipagainstprojectrequirements.Protecttubingandcomponentsfromcontaminationanddamageduringinstallation.
• Supportinspectionandtesting:Assistauthorizedpersonnelwithleaktesting,pressuretesting,inspections,andcommissioningactivitieswithinassignedresponsibilitiesandapprovedprocedures.

RequiredQualifications

• FamiliaritywithSwagelokorequivalentinstrumentationfittingsandtheabilitytofollowmanufacturerinstallationinstructions.
• Strongmechanicalaptitude,attentiontodetail,andtheabilitytofollowwrittenandverbalinstructions.
• Abilitytoworkindependentlyonassignedtasksandcommunicateeffectivelywithsupervisorsandothertrades.
• Abilitytomeetapplicablecompanyandclientonboarding,screening,training,andsite-accessrequirements.

PreferredQualifications

Twoormoreyearsofindustrialinstrument-fittingexperienceandahighschooldiplomaorGEDarepreferred.Additionalpreferredqualificationsincludeexperiencewithstainlesssteeltubingandpneumaticorhydraulicsystems;PreferredNCCERinstrumentationcredentialsorequivalentcrafttraining;aTWICcard;andavaliddriver’slicense.
