The Automation & Electrical Technician is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and automation systems supporting oilfield production operations. This role requires a strong working knowledge of industry‑standard equipment, regulations, materials, and tools used in modern oilfield automation environments.
Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Must be available to be On-Call.
Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50 to 75-pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods, sometimes over rough terrain.
