Job summary

Evonik is seeking an Instrument/Electrical (I/E) technician to perform basic and mid-level I/E craft tasks within an industrial plant. The role includes training and mentoring, with a focus on safety, calibration, instrumentation, and control loop maintenance.

The position requires knowledge of E&I, instrumentation, and DCS systems. You will work with SAP CMMS documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safe operation standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; an Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Instrument/Electrical crafts or related.
• Strong knowledge of E&I and Process Controls.
• Familiar with Temperature, Pressure and flow instrumentation.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives.
• Familiar with DeltaV and RS3 DCS systems.
• Proficient with SAP and standard software; able to use E&I test equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This is an Instrument/Electrical (I/E) technician position in which the incumbent will perform basic and mid-level I/E craft tasks while receiving formal training and mentoring within the I/E organization. The incumbent may coach and/or mentor employees in the entry-level or trainee level of the I/E craft. The incumbent will be familiar with the safety requirements of the I/E crafts to be able to aid or lead in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, adjusting of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and analytical equipment within an industrial/manufacturing plant environment.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• Understand and apply Industrial Safety requirements for the Instrument and Electrical crafts.
• Use common tools of the Instrument/Electrical crafts and electrical/electronic test equipment.
• Work on Instrumentation Calibration, Pneumatic Control Valves, and Process Control Loops.
• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and analytical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical codes, manuals, procedures, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.
• Properly document all repair activities and actively seek continuous improvement opportunities.
• Continuously acquire basic knowledge of processes involved in the production units.
• Promote safe and effective work, document work in SAP CMMS, and train and mentor others on precision maintenance principles.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school Diploma required, Associate's degree preferred
• Min of 2 years' experience required
• Sound knowledge in E&I and Process Controls.
• Familiar with various Temperature, Pressure, and flow instrumentation.
• Program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives.
• Distributive Control Systems knowledge of Delta V and RS3 a plus.
• Computer, including standard software and SAP.
• Able to use the basic E&I test equipment / Driver Explorer, RsLinx, AMS and standard software. Install, rebuild, and pressure test control and stop valves .

Summary Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The pay range for this position is: $57,500-$95,800
