Job summary

Evonik in Houston, TX is seeking an Instrument/Electrical Technician to troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, control systems, and PLC hardware. You will work with engineers and operations to resolve process problems and implement upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience in instrument/electrical control systems commonly found in chemical plants.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain TPM housekeeping to company standards in maintenance shop and plant.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and electrical problems; advise engineers.
• Provide technical assistance to unit operations and project engineers as needed.
• Design, develop, and repair instrument/electrical control systems; install PLC hardware/software.
• Ensure documentation is up-to-date (Mechanical Integrity docs).
• Prepare field change packages for instrument installations and upgrades.

Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.Writing, modifying, and reviewing procedures for plant improvements and safetyQualifications5 years of verifiable experience in the Instrument craft within the petrochemical industry preferred.Ability to lift approx. 50lbs., climb stairs & ladders, and work at elevation (scaffolds, hydraulic lifts, ladders)Use of hand wrenches & breathing apparatus (self-contained)Desired Skills -Perform instrumentation and electrical assignments with minimal supervision.I&E Tech is expected to have a strong sense of ownership for their work and workplace.I&E Tech communicates with plant personnel with very limited directional guidance from my supervisors. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Knowledge proficiency in LOTO.Ability to read and participate in (RCA) Root Cause Analysis.COMPENSATION DETAILSCompensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).Pay : $47.00 - $51.00 per hour to start.
