PegasusTSI Inc is seeking an Instrument & Controls System Designer to work closely with Lead designers and other disciplines, ensuring coordinated design systems. This role will produce complete I&C drawings with BOMs and will require onsite presence in Tampa with a hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of I&C design experience in refining/pharma/petrochemical projects, proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of I&C design experience in refining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical or specialty chemical projects.
• Higher education preferred.
• Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD; MS Office and Google Workspace experience.
• Experience with INTERGRAPH Smart Plant INtools is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work onsite in Tampa.

Responsabilités

• Develops, designs and checks control panels; control room layout, location plan drawings; junction box layout and loading; wiring connection; loop and logic diagrams; material take-off; cable schedules; installation details and supports; maintain instrument index; review vendor documents.
• Utilizes CAD to prepare layout and design drawings using practical design knowledge.
• Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards, codes, and company policies.
• Meet layout requirements and develop alternative design layouts of systems as required.
• Reviews and comment on supplier data as required.
• Performs checking of instrument deliverables to ensure accurate depiction of design.
• Reviews constructability, operability and safety in design.
• Checks compliance with I&C design guides, standards, specifications and procedures.

We have an excellent opportunity for an Instrument & Controls System Designer to work closely with Lead designers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. This position will produce complete Instrument & Control System drawings with associated bill of materials.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes CAD to prepare layout and design drawings using practical design knowledge

• Performs checking of all instrument deliverables as appropriate to the discipline to ensure they clearly depict the design
• Reviews constructability, operability and safety in design
• Checks compliance with I&C design guides, standards, specifications and procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of industry experience in I&C design with experience in refining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and specialty chemical projects
• Higher Education preferred
• Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Proficient with technical software applications, including MS Office and Google Workspace
• Working knowledge of INTERGRAPH Smart Plant Instrumentation INtools package a plus
• Ability and willingness to learn new software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship

Additional Information

This position is based in Tampa, Florida. While the company offers a hybrid work schedule, the role also requires the individual to be onsite in the office.
