Air Products seeks a high-energy Instrument and Electrical Technician to support two Hydrogen Plants in Martinez, CA, onsite at the refinery. The role covers inspection, repair, installation and modification of process controls, analyzers, PLCs and field instrumentation with travel to nearby facilities as needed.

The candidate will troubleshoot, calibrate, and document instrumentation, working with Instrument Engineering Support to maintain DCS/SCADA systems and ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent required.
• Minimum five years of experience with calibration and troubleshooting of industrial plant instrumentation and controls.
• Knowledge of PLC and DCS controls is a plus.
• Basic computer skills.
• SAP knowledge is desired.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with all equipment in plants served; devices include transmitters, switches, analyzers, PLCs, field instrumentation and process monitoring equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate plant instrumentation and controls.
• Support instrumentation engineering to maintain distributed control systems; prepare technical reports and enter data into SAP.

Air Products, manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking a high energy, self-starter to fill a full-time ***Instrument and Electrical Technician*** position with on-all responsibilities. This hourly position primarily supports our 2 Hydrogen Plants in Martinez, CA located onsite at the PBF Refinery. The incumbent will be assigned to the Martinez site as their primary location but will provide support as needed at 2 other hydrogen plants located nearby in Martinez on refinery sites as well. The I&E Technician will be responsible for performing and/or supervising the inspection, repair, installation and modification of process controls, safety devices, analyzers, PLC’s, field instrumentation and process monitoring equipment in the plants. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of plant instrumentation and controls. A sampling of these devices includes transmitters, switches, analyzers, programmable controllers, proximity devices, level control systems, control valves, equipment and personnel safety systems, pay meter systems, and others. Within each category are a variety of pneumatic and electronic devices.* Technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting and working with Instrument Engineering Support to maintain distributed control systems.
