Air Products, Martinez, CA, is seeking an Instrument and Electrical Technician to support two Hydrogen Plants on site at the PBF Refinery. This full-time hourly role covers installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of process instrumentation and control systems, with occasional travel to nearby facilities.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least five years of instrumentation experience, knowledge of PLC/DCS, SAP familiarity, and the ability to work

• Minimum five years of experience with calibration and troubleshooting of industrial plant instrumentation and controls.
• Knowledge of PLC and DCS controls is a plus.
• Basic computer skills required; SAP knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install and modify process controls, safety devices, analyzers, PLCs, field instrumentation and monitoring equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate plant instrumentation and controls; supervise where needed.
• Prepare technical reports and enter information into SAP for equipment documentation.
• Work with Instrument Engineering Support to maintain distributed control systems.
• Operate safely in an industrial setting with ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.

This hourly position primarily supports our 2 Hydrogen Plants in Martinez, CA located onsite at the PBF Refinery. The incumbent will be assigned to the Martinez site as their primary location but will provide support as needed at 2 other hydrogen plants located nearby in Martinez on refinery sites as well. The I&E Technician will be responsible for performing and/or supervising the inspection, repair, installation and modification of process controls, safety devices, analyzers, PLC’s, field instrumentation and process monitoring equipment in the plants. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of plant instrumentation and controls. A sampling of these devices includes transmitters, switches, analyzers, programmable controllers, proximity devices, level control systems, control valves, equipment and personnel safety systems, pay meter systems, and others. Within each category are a variety of pneumatic and electronic devices.* Technicians are also responsible for troubleshooting and working with Instrument Engineering Support to maintain distributed control systems.
