Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) invites applications for a part-time Welding Instructor to teach in the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway. Courses are scheduled on MATC campuses in Wisconsin and may include evenings or weekends; employment is fully in-person and hours vary with enrollment.
Starting pay is $40 per course hour, with an additional 45 minutes per hour for office and prep time, equating to about $70 per hour.

Develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, evening, and/or weekends. Under the supervision of the Dean, MCT Pathway, to plan and teach related and shop activities in the welding curriculum to include the areas of layout, blueprint reading, fabrication, oxy‑fuel welding and cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux‑core arc welding with self and gas shielded wires, inspection and testing, and welding math.

Start Date: This position supports the Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Pathway and is available to start in the Fall 2025 academic semester; 16‑week courses start mid‑August.
Job Details: This is a part‑time pool position and will require teaching courses at MATC campuses. Must have availability to begin teaching on site no later than 4:30 pm during the week. Hours and location are based on enrollment and departmental need each semester. Modality is fully in‑person. Employees will conduct all work hours in the state of Wisconsin, performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part‑time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part‑time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non‑negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.
Interviews: Selected qualified candidates will be invited to interview virtually for the first round of interviews for this position. Interviews take place during normal weekday hours.
