Position Summary



Lead and schedule training to meet Protective Force initial and recurring training requirements. Provide supervisory responsibility over Instructors assigned to the Protective Force. Use experience to develop Job Analysis and Training Needs analysis for the Protective Force.

Responsibilities




  • Provide a safe training environment by developing and implementing appropriate Risk Assessments for each training event. Schedule Instructors to cover initial and recuring training, including force on force exercises, tactical exercises, and other requirements as deemed necessary by the Director of Training.

  • Accurately track all training and provide routine updates on status of training.

  • Efficiently schedule Instructors to meet training requirements.

  • Maintain all instructor certifications and ensure instructors maintain all instructor certifications in order to meet training requirements.

  • Analyze all facets of performance testing to develop the Protective Force Training Needs.

  • Use appropriate regulations and orders to develop a Job Analysis for each position on the Protective Force requiring training.

  • Ensure all courses and training is conducted within the appropriate regulations and orders.




Qualifications:



  • Education: Applicant must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Criminal Justice, or another related field. An equivalent of education, training and experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • Clearance: At a minimum, the individual proposed must possess a DOE (Q) security clearance or must meet the eligibility requirements that will reasonably ensure a DOE (Q) clearance is obtained.

  • Training: Applicant must meet and maintain DOE Security Police Officer I standards as defined by U.S.C., 10 CFR 1046 and DOE Orders and Directives.

  • Applicant must possess Basic Instructor Certification, Intermediate Force Instructor Certification, and Firearms Instructor Certification.

  • The applicant must have experience supervising a Training Department of similar scope and complexity and providing advice and assistance to management on the Protective Force Training/Supervision issues; and must obtain and maintain Security police officer certifications.

  • Applicant must possess at least eight (8) years as an instructor; Basic Instructor Training, First Aid/CPR Course; Job Analysis; Firearms Instructor Course; Intermediate Force (IMF); Curriculum Development; Ground Control Training; Lead Instructor; Supervisor Development; Live Fire Range Operations; and Dye Marking Cartridge Training.

  • Applicant must have an understanding of all the following: Badge Office Operations, Receptionist duties, Central Alarm Station operations, PF Supervision, Basic Security Officer Duties and Security Police Officer Duties.

  • Applicant must have five (5) years' experience in conducting training of the aforementioned disciplines or related areas, demonstrate knowledge of tactics, unarmed defense, intermediate force, first aid/CPR, and other security and/or law enforcement methodologies.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Work is typically based inside a busy government facility with some outside work on the facility grounds. Work hours are 12-hour shifts, days or nights, to include weekends and holidays.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires extended standing, walking, sitting, squatting, and bending throughout the workday. Required to perform physical training twice per week.
