Job summary

FACILITY MANAGEMENT CORP, also known as FMC Ice Sports, is seeking part-time staff to assist with ice sports facility management in Burlington, Massachusetts. Responsibilities include customer service, enforcing rink policies, and preparing program documentation.

Ideal candidates should have experience with skating classes, possess strong skating abilities, and have a genuine commitment to safety. Compensation ranges from $20-32 per hour based on qualifications and roles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.
• Figure skaters should have achieved and passed ISI Freestyle 4 or USFS Freeskate 4.
• Hockey players should have participated in multiple years of formal league play.

Description

Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports,” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice‑skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long‑term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively uses customer service skills to control customer interactions.
• Educates the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities.
• Accurately evaluates placements of students for skating instructions.
• Prepares/completes program documents like attendance, recommendations, etc.
• Enforcement of all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
• Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor on time.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Performs any other related or similar duty as assigned.

This is a part‑time position. Most FMC programs are held in the afternoon, evenings, and on weekends. Dates and time for programs may vary.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Compensation

Pay based on experience and industry‑related qualifications. Training rate $20-30 per hour based on instructor level. Base pay range upon completion of training $22-32 per hour for instructor‑related work. Pay range for non‑instructor‑related work is $17-18 per hour based on instructor level.
