Job summary

Job description

The Instructor, RFA will plan, coordinate, design and execute technical research experiments and design research projects as described by the Principal Investigator. Will participate in collaborations involving investigators at all levels within the institution and those at other institutions. Scientific contributions must impact cancer research efforts throughout the institution. In addition, this individual must prepare manuscripts for publication as well as travel to national and international meetings to present information about these studies.

Research
  • Conducts research experiments requiring knowledge in the field of Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis, Biochemistry and/or Bioinformatics.
  • Compiles, analyzes and reports statistical data for various projects including, but not limited to computerized imaging and bioinformatics.
  • Performs various genomic data analysis.
  • Verbally discusses data and interpretation of experimental results with faculty members, collaborators and laboratory personnel.
  • Contributes to publications in scientific journals.
Instruction/Education
  • May provide instruction to basic scientists and educational appointments.
Administrative Activities
  • Participates in weekly research seminars.
  • Participates in monthly chalk talks.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled mentoring meetings.
  • Presents data at national and international meetings.
EDUCATION:

Required: Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) from an accredited school and be professionally competent.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Must have two (2) years' experience as postdoctoral fellow or equivalent working in a research environment where duties involve scientific research disciplines, at an academic institution, or have applicable experience deemed equivalent. Evidence of consistent research of high quality, and a dedication to a career in cancer research is required.
