Job summary

The College of Education at Oregon State University invites applications for fixed-term, non-tenure-track Instructor positions to teach in Spring and Fall 2026. Appointments may be full- or part-time, term-by-term, with potential renewal or transition to instructional roles at the Dean's discretion.

Courses may be face-to-face, hybrid, or online across undergraduate and graduate programs, focused on Education and Teaching majors, ESOL/Dual Language, and graduate certificates.

Qualifications

• Earned Master’s degree in Education or closely related field for 100–500 level courses.
• Earned Doctorate degree in Education or closely related field for 600 level courses.
• Documented experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the course content area.
• For teaching in teacher licensure programs, at least 5 years of documented teaching experience in K-12 public schools.
• If teaching in the EDU MS, education background, teaching license and teaching experience should be in mathematics and/or science at the secondary level.
• License to teach in the content areas or licensable in the content area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and/or teach courses within the Education and Teaching major and minor, and graduate certificate programs
• Participate in necessary training and meetings to develop, maintain, and teach with appropriate technologies in OSU’s learning management system (Canvas).
• Courses are expected to promote experiential learning and success of students from varied backgrounds.

Job Summary

The College of Education invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part‑time Instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the Spring and Fall terms in the 2026 academic year.

Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean.

Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available.

The purpose of this position is to develop and deliver courses for the College of Education’s Education and Teaching Majors and ESOL /Dual Language programs. Courses may be face‑to‑face, hybrid, or fully online and include multiple subject areas in undergraduate or graduate programs and graduate certificates.

This position is directly responsible to advance the missions of the College of Education in the Education and Teaching Majors, and the ESOL /

dual Language programs.

• Teaching experience at the college or university level.

• If teaching in the EDU MS, experience teaching online and working with masters students

• Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices to the benefit of all learners.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Shared office space is provided in Furman Hall at OSU’s Corvallis campus. Local travel for class and faculty meetings may be required. Classes meet online and/or in-person in Corvallis or 3-4 times/term in Portland, Oregon. Attendance at regular faculty meetings (weekly to quarterly) may be required.
