Job Summary: | The Department of Neurosurgery at Children's Hospital Colorado/University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU-SOM) has a (0.5FTE) clinical faculty position available for an Advanced Practice Provider. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be a clinical faculty member of the CU-SOM, entering at the level of Instructor. This position encompasses inpatient and outpatient medical care services for children suffering from a wide range of neurosurgical disorders. As a faculty member of the CU-SOM, opportunities for professional development may include precepting medical learners, education of nursing and medical staff, participation in quality and safety improvement projects, clinical research projects, and mentoring residents and junior Advanced Practice Providers. Responsibilities of the APP position include primary patient care, including being a surgical first assistant; care of hospitalized neurosurgical patients in the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, neurosurgical floor, neurosurgery clinic, and evaluating new consultations in the hospital and emergency department. The APP will work closely with other members of the Neurosurgery service including faculty, APPs and residents. A portion of this role's time will be on nights and weekends.
