Job Summary: Classroom Instructor

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Geology or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Geology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years college‑level teaching experience.
Physical Requirements

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints; write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques; make persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of trustees.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; handle nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases; deal with abstract and concrete variables.
