About the Job

Part-time temporary Teaching Assistant Professor or Instructor position in the Department of Applied Human Sciences for the academic year 2026-27. Appointments begin August 24, 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teaching courses based on approved course curriculum in consultation with the department head, specifically HLTH 2200: Research and Evaluation in Health Science, HLTH 3116: Principles of Epidemiology and Human Disease and/or HLTH 3300: Planning Community Health Interventions.
  • Developing assessment measures (i.e., exams, quizzes, presentations, papers).
  • Providing students with grade status throughout the term.
  • Providing academic advising to undergraduate students.
  • Attending bi-weekly faculty meetings.
  • Holding weekly office hours. Instructors will be evaluated by students and faculty.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to public health. Required academic qualification to be eligible for the Teaching Assistant Professor position is a Doctorate from an accredited institution in a field related to the specific teaching assignment.
  • Commitment to working effectively with diverse communities, students, and colleagues in educational settings.
Preferred:
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level (such as Teaching Assistant experience) to a diverse group of students.
  • Evidence of effective teaching and academic rigor.
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.
Pay & Benefits

Pay Range: $17,433.00 - $20,420.40 per year; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
