Job summary

The University of Colorado Ophthalmology Department seeks a full-time Instructor – Optometrist for the Boulder Clinic to join our academic ophthalmology practice. You will provide outpatient medical and perioperative management, screening, refraction, and vision testing at SAREC Boulder and affiliated Denver metro sites.

Responsibilities include cataract and refractive surgery pre/postoperative care, prescribing contact lenses and eyeglasses, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must have Doctor of Optometry or equivalent.
• Residency in optometry completed or in progress recommended.
• Colorado medical license or eligibility required by hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient medical and perioperative management of ophthalmic disorders.
• Perform routine eye screening, visual acuity testing, and refraction.
• Provide pre and postoperative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.
• Prescribe and fit contact lenses and eyeglasses.
