Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) invites applicants for an Instructor of Mathematics. This full-time probationary role sits in the Department of Computer Sciences and Mathematics and supports Spring 2027 start.

This position is also part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG+CC) program. This is an initiative supported by SUNY system aiming to: (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates; and (3) hire qualified faculty directly into tenure-track positions to support the community colleges efforts to build an educated workforce in the state.

The minimum salary for this position is $53,000 and faculty appointments may be at the instructor or assistant professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. This position includes benefits for 12 months but has a work obligation of a 10-month appointment (151 days), which reflects responsibilities during the fall and spring semesters. The annual assigned teaching load is between thirty (30) and thirty-three (33) contact hours, typically distributed as eighteen (18) contact hours in the fall semester and fifteen (15) contact hours in the spring semester. Teaching load may include evening, weekend and/or online assignments, and there may be potential for additional compensation through voluntary overload.
